Located in Ondo State, Nigeria, Omelege is home to over 700 people. Okra Mesh-Grids are powering households and a Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) that serves a larger region of 4,000 people, and delivers approximately 50 babies per month. The centre offers basic essential health services and functions as the first point of access to health care by individuals, families, and communities. Before the PHC and the community had reliable energy, babies were delivered without fans, and without adequate lighting. The electrification of Omolege is SAO Capitals' first project with Okra's Mesh-Grid technology. Over the next two years, SAO will be looking to energize an additional 10,000 households and 400 similar Primary Health Care centres in the surrounding regions. The project started deployment in February 2022.
