Nithya Menon is an engineering graduate from Harvey Mudd College who has spent her career developing technology targeted towards empowering marginalized and developing communities worldwide. She has been pivotal in designing Okra's key power-sharing algorithms, IoT firmware, and grid management software.

Oscar has over 10 years experience as a professional electrical engineer. Since 2017 he has developed deep expertise in the design, procurement, installation and operation of remote renewable energy microgrids, particularly Okra’s “Mesh-grid” technology in Cambodia and Philippines.

From smart homes to solar grids, Dmitry wrangles firmware, hardware and cloud systems into working together. He’s part builder, part translator and part systems thinker, always hunting down the right piece or person to get the job done.

Jaymin is an electronics engineer from Gujarat, India, with over a decade in firmware and embedded systems. He’s focused on building reliable low-level infrastructure and is driven by improving access to power for communities like the one he grew up in.

At some point Diogo played poker professionally, then worked in video production (mostly in the humanitarian sector) and later became a software developer in a career spanning over 12 years and has lived in locations like London, Geneva and now Porto. But his most satisfying work to date has been with the smaller startups and hopes to continue feeling that way here at Okra!

Ana studied at Informatics and Computer Engineering at FEUP, with a dissertation focused on Decentralized orchestration of IoT systems. She's worked as a full stack engineer since 2019 before joining Okra.

Hailing from MIT, Matt is now a software engineer and data scientist at Okra where he works on battery management, remote monitoring, and grid optimization technology.

Jason is a software engineer with a background in US big tech, including Google, Stripe, and Meta. He’s spent his career building and scaling large-scale data systems and core infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability and performance as systems grow.

Affy has a simple vision: to get power to everyone in the world, as fast as possible, and unlock their potential.

Sochima has a background in urban planning, technology management, and business administration and has facilitated the deployment of isolated and interconnected mini-grids with a total capacity of 5MW.

Kanayor is an industry leader in renewable energy with experience spanning across SHS, Cold storage + PUEs, Mini-Grid and technologies that enable renewable energy.

Ridwan is a finance professional specializing in project finance and capital raising for infrastructure and impact-driven projects. At Okra, he helps unlock funding that enables sustainable energy projects to scale and serve last-mile communities. He holds a Finance degree from University of Lagos.

Callum's mission is to have a grand adventure with amazing people. When he's not climbing, he's belaying others as they hustle to get energy access out to the world.

Susan has a business English background and worked in the hardware electronic industry in Shenzhen for 10+ years. She's extremely familiar with supply chain in the Great Bay Area of China.

She has joined Okra as the Inventory Manager, aka the wizard of goods flow. Magical duties include managing stock levels, tracking inventory, ensuring accurate records and forecast our inventory needs like a crystal ball.

Tim has the technical chops from being an Electrical Engineer in Australia and a filmmaker in Cambodia. Now he’s able to combine his knack for breaking down complex technical concepts and love for telling stories as Okra’s Marketing Lead.

As a social and climate justice advocate, she focuses on projects that align with her beliefs and strives to make a meaningful positive impact in real world issues.

Miracle is a visual artist and filmmaker specializing in commercial photography and video production. He helps small brands craft compelling visual narratives and previously worked as a TV presenter at PlanetMedia TV. He holds a degree in Microbiology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
