    • Be familiar with and adept at handling different Nigerian import channels (e.g., general trade, project cargo) and their specific requirements.
    • Independently, accurately, and timely prepare, review, and manage all import/export logistics documents, including but not limited to:
      • China Export Docs: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin (e.g., COO or FORM F).
      • Nigeria Import Essential Docs: FORM M, Product Certificates (SONCAP / SONPC), PAAR assessment, duty calculation sheets.
      • Finance-related Docs: Proficient in preparing and presenting all documents under Letters of Credit (L/C), ensuring strict document compliance.
      • Other related inspection, insurance, and shipping documents.
  • Cost Control & Risk Management:
    • Be responsible for logistics budgeting and cost control, seeking to reduce overall logistics expenses through negotiation and optimised solutions.
    • Identify potential risks across the logistics chain (e.g., clearance delays, policy changes, cargo damage, document discrepancies) and develop/implement mitigation plans.
    • Ensure adequate cargo insurance coverage and handle claims when necessary.
  • Internal Collaboration & Process Optimisation:
    • Work closely with Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure smooth logistics information flow, supporting sales order fulfilment and project execution.
    • Establish, refine, and continuously optimise the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for exports to Nigeria.
    • Maintain accurate logistics data, perform analysis, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Hard Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of China export customs procedures, international ocean/air freight operations, and the complete Nigeria import clearance process.
  • Thorough understanding of Nigerian Customs regulations, product standard certification requirements, and tariff systems.

More About Okra

At Okra Solar, weโ€™re on a mission to bring Power to the People by unlocking opportunities through energy access for everyone in the world.

Over 650 million people still live without electricity. At a time where technology such as mobile devices, productive agritech and AI are becoming more accessible than ever, we believe that access to energy is the first step toward opportunity and growth.

Thatโ€™s why we built Mesh-Grid technology that energizes off-grid households at a fraction of the cost of traditional off-grid energy solutions. We supply the tech we specialize in to local energy companies, who go out and deliver affordable, reliable energy to last mile communities.

Okra is currently in its high-growth phase, after raising over $11M for our Series A in 2023 from our investors At One Ventures, FMO, Autodesk, King Philanthropies and Susquehanna. We have rolled out multiple Mesh Grid projects across Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America, but in order for us to achieve our mission of 100% electrification, we need to continue engineering and deploying disruptive energy access technology at scale, so this is an exciting time for everyone!
