Overview

Okra is looking for a Senior Project Finance Analyst to join our team full-time in Porto, Portugal.

As a Senior Project Finance Analyst for Okra you will work with the Finance and Commercial teams to support our customers in developing their Okra Meshgrid projects and securing project funding for repeat orders. You’ll work with customers to evaluate their community pipeline and scaleup goals, design projects and business models with that pipeline and coordinate different funding options including infrastructure debt and equity funding and grants to fund this pipeline.

Responsibilities

Technical Work

• Building financial models and maintaining project template models.
• Drafting case studies and presentation materials to showcase investability.
• Negotiating commercial contracts and proposing commercial structures. 
• Processing project data to evaluate existing project economics and plan future projects.
• Evaluate different financial products and offerings such as short term financing facilities, export facilities etc. that can be of use for customers. 

Project Development

• Build project financial and business models, evaluate and develop materials and run scenarios.
• Work with customers to develop projects including supporting customers to choose communities, running site surveys, processing existing project data and site surveys.
• Responsible for leading and facilitating project funding applications for debt, equity and grant funding with customers, including due diligence and development.
• Ensure internal processes are followed to guarantee projects are meeting commercial and impact targets. This includes Okra’s KYC, credit policy, internal project design reviews and approval processes.
• You’ll draft Okra’s commercial contracts and work with sales and customer success to finalize contracts.

Funding Strategy and Pipeline

• Assess and build a pipeline of projects to be funded to hit long term revenue and impact targets. 
• Planning and prioritisation of different deals. 
• Design investment vehicles / funding structures to ensure pipeline can be funded.
• Building out Okra’s investor network, building relationships with infrastructure funds, impact investors, donors, grant providers and other project financiers.

Skills We’re Looking For*

• 5+ years experience in financing or raising funding for projects or businesses (preferably related to renewable energy and/or infrastructure).
• Experience in project development and investment/ fundraising in developing markets.
• You can build, maintain and manipulate financial models in Excel and Google Sheets 
• Experience working with smaller teams and fast paced environments.
• Project management experience.
• Investor network in the clean energy sector.
