Senior Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist

The mission of this role is to recruit and on-board talent (engineering and operations) within Portugal, and around the globe. Okra needs an experienced HR professional with deep networks in the technology and strategic operations community, to help our Porto-based team grow rapidly. The short-term critical focus of this role will be hiring engineering talent in Porto.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating recruitment activities, in cooperation with various hiring managers. Additionally, they will also be responsible for auditing and optimizing our on-boarding procedures to ensure new hires are effectively integrated with our team as quickly as possible.


  • Identify and recruit top talents into our Porto-based team, and other key offices.
  • Apply top-grading Methodology.
  • Implement inclusive, diverse and equitable recruitment methods.
  • Management of recruitment related administrative efforts (contracts, payroll, etc.).
  • Work with the HR & Marketing team to cultivate employment branding.
  • Assist Hiring Managers in on-boarding new candidates.
  • Ensure compliance with Local Labor Laws
  • Entity & Employer of Record management

  • Tech. Talent Scouting: Proven success in sourcing engineering talent, especially in competitive markets like Portugal.
  • Advanced Sourcing Techniques: Proficiency in Boolean search methods, including LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Diverse Sourcing Skills: Experienced in utilizing various tools and platforms, including job boards, social media, and professional networks, for sourcing.
  • Talent Pipeline Management: Skilled at managing talent pipelines and using an ATS (applicant tracking system) for efficient recruitment.
  • Top-grading Expertise: Knowledge and practical application of top-grading principles for candidate evaluation.
  • On-boarding Competence: Knowledge of on-boarding processes and the ability to ensure a smooth experience for new hires.
  • Diversity & Inclusion Proficiency: Understanding and implementation of diversity and inclusion best practices, including bias mitigation.
  • Diversity Recruitment Strategies: Experience in creating strategies to attract diverse candidate backgrounds.
